However, the latter is rather heterogeneous, because with equal disease and treatment, the elderly will not have the same prognosis. Indeed, on the one hand, we can distinguish old robust subjects and on the other hand, the bedridden elderly and in between, the so-called frail subjects. In their privileged relationship and repeated contact with the elderly, the general practitioner must be the first bulwark for the early identification of the frail elderly. This makes it possible to hope for a reversibility of the state of frailty if appropriate strategies of care are put in place. Evaluation and the search for a state of frailty can be part of prevention. This syndrome has a variable prevalence in the population over 65 years, according to the studies, it varies between 17 and 30%, this representing a significant part of the population followed in ambulatory.2 An early assessment of fragility is essential to develop preventive strategies, by the use of some tools. One of the tools is the modified SEGA tool, validated by RéGéCa team.1 The SEGA grid created by Schoevaerdts (2), has been adapted to a population living at home.1-3 This tool seems to us the most suitable because it is reproducible and requires minimum time to take...Show MoreCompeting Interests: None declared.
