Abstract
A new approach to continuing education for the experienced general practitioner is described which makes use of small group work, provides a longitudinal framework for planning over several years, and by its flexibility permits the participants to shape the content to their needs. The principles behind the approach are described and each year's work considered with a discussion of the problems that emerged, what the attenders and organizers learned, and how the series evolved.
