We too recognise the potential for herb-drug interactions, and take care to safely integrate any herbal medicines we dispense to our patients with their existing medications and pre-existing health problems.We know that the same cannot often be said for members of the public self-medicating with purchased herbal products and supplements. The situation for elderly patients is compounded further by polypharmacy and increasing likelihood of comorbidities.
