This is an important aspect in the broader understanding and improvement of primary healthcare. In order to fully appreciate the results found, we have some additional questions.Table 1 summarises the population of the complainers by age group, while there is no such data given regarding the total patient population visiting the out-of-hours general practice. Thus, the earlier recalled data can’t be compared and it remains unclear whether this group is representative for the total population visiting the out-of-hours general practice. i.e., the majority of the population filling out a complaint are children, while it is not clear whether this is relatively normal or not, in comparison to the total patient population visiting the out-of-hours general practice.Furthermore, under the headline ‘Implications for research and practice’, the text shows that parental expectation of antibiotic treatment was a major driver for complaints, which, in our opinion, provides an interesting in-depth insight in the complaints characterised under ‘prescription’.
