Roghieh Dehghan speaks eloquently about the impact of casual hate and everyday street harassment which is tolerated here. Roghieh doesn't ask us to question, tackle or stand up to hate. She simply asks for a practical inequality and unfairness to be corrected. Quite rightly, equality and accessibility are founding tennets of the NHS.
I am ashamed, embarrassed and appalled that as bystanders we don't intervene or bear witness, that laws about hate and harassment are not routinely upheld or respected.
When and how are we going to stand together to push hate to the margins of our society, rather than people?
