CHA2DS2-VASc score of 0 or 1 in a Danish cohort, thus confirming that it is not appropriate to offer anticoagulation to such people'
This confirms what others have hinted.
Many of the population now who exercise, eat well and are not obese may have a much lower stroke risk than the cohorts used for the Chadsvasc statistics (and those statistics had very few people in the very high risk). AF hunting is being pushed by several UK organisations even though as yet the trial evidence that those with asymptomatic AP do not overall benefit from anticoagulation. We need to be patient centred not protocol driven is discussing potential risks and benefits when we intervene in peoples lives.

Competing Interests: I have PAF age 67 but fear my risk of a brain bleed if I crash my cycle is greater currently than an AF stroke (post ablation and aware when I get AF).
