AB During a period of one full week, an analysis was made of the activities of patients (demand) and workers (service) in a suburban general practice. A data collection system was constructed and used by all the health centre workers. We sought to measure demand and service and to show the value of measurement (audit) of an aspect of service, i.e. prescribing.
