AB  - A prospective morbidity study of the parents of Down's children and the parents of control children matched for age, sex, family size and social class failed to demonstrate any difference in the incidence of psychosis, psychoneurosis or self-poisoning referred to the general practitioner. It is suggested that the common assumption that Down's syndrome and parental anxiety are inevitably associated is questionable
