Samenvatting

Heeft verlaging van de cholesterolspiegel bij mensen die een hartinfarct of instabiele angina pectoris hebben gehad zin ter voorkoming van een CVA? In de LIPID-studie (Long-term Intervention with Pravastin in Ischemic Disease) werd primair gekeken of deze groep mensen door het slikken van een cholesterolverlagend middel minder vaak overleden door coronaire hartziekten. De incidentie van CVA was een secundair eindpunt.
