Does psychological distress vary between younger and older adults in health and disease?
2012, Journal of Psychosomatic ResearchCitation Excerpt :These new findings indicate that the effect of age on the prevalence of psychological distress dimensions is rather complex and differ between healthy individuals and patients with chronic diseases. In accordance with previous reports [14–18], we also found that people with long-term conditions are 2.2 to 4.8 times more likely to present severe psychological distress. A notable exception was observed in patients with colorectal cancer.
Schizoidia in schizophrenia spectrum and personality disorders: Role of dissociation
2007, Psychiatry ResearchCitation Excerpt :The internal consistency alpha coefficients for the nine symptom dimensions ranged from 0.77 to 0.90 (Derogatis et al., 1976). Retest reliability coefficients ranged between 0.75 and 0.84 (Magni et al., 1986). Validity levels of the SCL-90-R were found to be comparable to other self-report inventories (Derogatis et al., 1976; Schmitz et al., 1999).
