Abstract

Psychological characteristics of couples attending an in vitro fertilization clinic were examined. Participants completed measures of personality, family environment, life quality, coping, and emotional status. Couples seeking in vitro fertilization exhibited specific personality traits and cohesive, supportive relationships. Unexpectedly, they reported good quality of life and freedom from anxiety and depression.
